Steel Challenge – USPSA

BTSA have Steel Challenge matches which are fun for young and old. These matches have a round count of approximately 250 rounds. A 22 RF handgun or rifle or larger handgun are used, be sure to bring at least 5 magazines or loaders.  Steel matches are usually 8 stages, they consist of metal targets (never more than 5 in one stage) at distances of 7 to 35 yards.   Most of the targets are either 10” or 12″ round or 18 x 24″ rectangles. They never require more than 5 rounds and are revolver neutral. Each stage is shot 5 times and the slowest time is thrown out. The best 4 are kept, the total time for all the stages is the match score. Its a lot of fun and good practice for other action matches.

The USPSA discipline provides a great deal of enjoyment, but is harder and is involved physically and mentally. We promote safety, training, proficiency, and fun. Action shooting is commonly referred to “Run and Gun is offered through weekly and monthly club and sanctioned matches. Our “Monday Night” programs is a training ground for those who wish to learn and because you do not just stand and shoot. Many stages require moving to/from different targets and shooting under, over, and around barriers.
